History:
The Gregorian Etruscan Museum (1837)
Bear the name of its founder, Pope Gregory XVI,
who picked up all the finds coming from northern Latium Etruscan necropolis
belonged to Pontifical State up to 1870.
The fragments go back to different epochs: the most ancient
even to the iron age (XI b.C.), in the most recent are already perceptible influences of the Roman Empire.
In the same Etruscan settlements were recovered Greek vases, now statements together with those italiotis to illustrate the different vase-painting techniques .
In the museum you can also admire the “Antiquarium Romanum”, a collection of objects in terracotta, bronze and glass daily used in the ancient Rome.
